SAN SEBASTIÁN GASTRONOMIKA 2025
San Sebastián Gastronomika 2025 is about to begin! From October 6th to 8th, the city will once again host the world-renowned international haute cuisine congress and fair at the Kursaal Congress Centre. It’s no surprise that San Sebastián welcomes this event with such excitement: in every season, in every corner, this city lives and breathes gastronomy.
Basque gastronomy is world-renowned, and San Sebastián is one of those must-visit destinations for true food lovers. Our city and its surroundings proudly boast 18 Michelin stars, a testament to the exceptional culinary talent that thrives here. But the magic of Donostia’s cuisine isn’t found only in fine dining. It lives as well in traditional dishes such as squid in its own ink (chipirones en su tinta), the classic pantxineta dessert, and of course, in the famous pintxos — those miniature culinary creations that fill the Old Town with flavor, creativity, and culture.
It’s the perfect setting for this year’s congress, which comes under the theme “Tradition and Regeneration.” A meaningful title that invites reflection beyond sustainability, focusing on revisiting culinary roots and seeking true regeneration of food and ecological systems.
Gastronomika 2025 will feature an exciting program of talks, tributes, award ceremonies, and round tables. Chefs and culinary experts from around the world will present their latest creations, and visitors will have the chance to taste them at the stands. This year’s lineup is headlined by Peruvian chef Mitsuharu Tsumura, whose restaurant Maido has been named the world’s best restaurant in 2025 by The 50 Best. Other acclaimed chefs such as Niklas Ekstedt (Sweden), Jefferson García (Colombia), Thalía Barrios (Mexico), Viviana Varese (Italy) and Luigi Pomata (Italy) will also take part. Tastings, competitions, exhibitions, and many other activities await — and it’s safe to say that the 2025 edition will not disappoint.
Stay with us at Hotel Parma, just a 5-minute walk from the Kursaal, and enjoy not only the charm of our Old Town pintxos but also the energy of this world-class event. Bon appétit!
