SAN SEBASTIAN FILM FESTIVAL

September, as always, arrives with wonderful news… Donostia is getting ready for its close-up! The 74th edition of the San Sebastián Film Festival opened three days ago, and the city’s streets will continue to be filled with premieres, cameras, red carpets and familiar faces until the 26th. The seventh art brings a touch of glamour to the Kursaal, the Victoria Eugenia Theatre and other iconic venues across the city, all of them just a short distance from Hotel Parma.

This year’s festival features 263 films from 47 countries, with a diverse selection of genres and stories that turn San Sebastián into a meeting point for film professionals and enthusiasts alike. Among the major films still to come is Tender Loving Care, the latest work by acclaimed director Mike Leigh, while The Debut, directed by Jesse Eisenberg, will bring Julianne Moore, Paul Giamatti and Eisenberg himself together on screen. Both are part of the Official Selection, which will continue to capture attention over the coming days.

Among the stars of this year’s festival are Naomi Watts and Werner Herzog, both honoured with the Donostia Award, alongside other major names such as Penélope Cruz, Brad Pitt, Marion Cotillard, Orlando Bloom, Jeremy Irons and Rami Malek, turning the city into a truly international showcase.
