PASAIA ITSAS FEST

 In News

Attention! We’ve got a fantastic plan for you this week. From May 14th to 17th, the fourth edition of Pasaia Itsas Fest will take place in the neighbouring town of Pasaia. Every two years, this international maritime and cultural event offers an extraordinary sight: traditional wooden vessels of great heritage value, arriving from different corners of the world, gather in Pasaia.

At Hotel Parma, we often say that the sea lives within us — it shapes who we are and drives our evolution. In Pasaia, this feeling is experienced in a truly special way. It is a town deeply connected to Gipuzkoa’s naval and seafaring traditions, where activities such as fishing, shipbuilding and navigation have defined life for centuries. Today, the Town Council of Pasaia and Albaola are working together to restore the port’s historical significance and strengthen its international recognition as a heritage harbour. Pasaia Itsas Fest is a celebration of this commitment: a way of bringing Pasaia’s history to life as part of its transformation, always rooted in its rich maritime cultural legacy and in harmony with its natural surroundings.

Beyond its cultural and historical importance, these days are all about enjoyment. You’ll have the pleasure of admiring the bay filled with vessels, sails and towering masts, while Pasaia Itsas Fest offers the unique opportunity to step aboard and explore the decks and interiors of the participating ships. The perfect plan? Cross the bay surrounded by all kinds of sailing boats and immerse yourself in culture, gastronomy, maritime atmosphere and local craftsmanship.

This magical experience is just 26 minutes away by public transport from Hotel Parma. Simply head to Okendo Street and take the E09 bus. We can hardly wait — come and enjoy it with us!
