MIRAMAR MAGIKOA
Do you know Miramar Palace? This English-style building from 1893 sits between La Concha Beach and Ondarreta Beach, offering sweeping views over the entire bay—truly a spectacular sight. Strolling through the gardens around the palace is worthwhile at any time of the year, and to make it even more special, Donostia Turismo has filled the whole area with magic for this Christmas season.
The most beautiful time of the year never goes unnoticed in San Sebastián; the classic Christmas Market (on the Urumea Promenade and Ramon Labayen Square, just a 6-minute walk from Hotel Parma), the streetlights and the Ferris wheel (11 minutes away) are only some of the things that reflect the city’s festive spirit.
This December, adding to the Christmas programme, Miramar Magikoa arrives as an exciting new feature. It is an immersive experience that pays artistic and luminous tribute to the world of insects, and you can visit it until January 5. Bees, flies, butterflies, beetles… you probably never imagined you would walk among large-scale images of these creatures, and the purpose behind it all is clear: insects have played an essential role in sustaining our ecosystems since they first appeared more than 400 million years ago.
The creators invite you to explore, observe and be amazed by this 700-metre route, and from Hotel Parma we encourage you to do the same. Enjoy a peaceful walk along La Concha Promenade (32 minutes from Hotel Parma) or take public transport (18 minutes from the Boulevard), get your ticket and become part of this fantasy. This Christmas, we’ll be waiting for you—ready to shine alongside the world of insects.
