SEMANA GRANDE 2025

 In News

From August 9 to 16, San Sebastián celebrates its Semana Grande, one of the most anticipated events of the year. For eight days, the city fills with a festive atmosphere that blends tradition, culture, music, and entertainment for all audiences. The opening cannon will take place on Saturday 9 at Alderdi Eder, this year launched by the Gipuzkoa Food Bank and the Amara Berri Neighborhood Association, in recognition of their social work.

One of the highlights of the festival is the International Fireworks Competition, held every night over La Concha Bay. This year marks its 60th edition, making it one of the most prestigious competitions of its kind in Europe.

Music also plays a leading role, with a diverse lineup of free concerts at Sagüés. Artists like Leire Martínez, Morodo, Vicco, OBK, and Marlon will perform in a vibrant open-air setting. Meanwhile, Donostiako Piratak will host their alternative program at the port, featuring local bands and a more grassroots atmosphere.

Throughout the week, the city will offer over 380 activities in different venues: food markets, traditional sports, children’s shows, street performances, parades, and giant puppets. The festive spirit will be accompanied by safety and coexistence measures, including awareness campaigns and increased police presence.

Hotel Parma, located in the city center and just steps from the main events, is the perfect place to stay and enjoy each day of the festival. From here, you can easily explore the city, relax between events, and fully experience the excitement of Donostia’s Semana Grande. We look forward to welcoming you!
