Getaria pays homage to Juan Sebastián Elcano. Throughout the weekend, the Basque coast will experience one of the most impressive nautical performances of recent decades. A huge regatta and a nautical rally will see around hundred vessels gather in this Gipuzkoan town to pay homage to Juan Sebastián Elcano, the Basque navigator who completed the first voyage round the world in 1522.
