 In News

From the 22nd to the 27th of July, San Sebastián will once again become the international capital of jazz, celebrating the 60th edition of its iconic festival, Jazzaldia. The entire city transforms into a musical stage, where jazz legends, emerging talents and passionate audiences converge in open-air squares, theatres and the city’s beloved Zurriola beach. In this unique setting, Hotel Parma offers the perfect location to enjoy the festival from the heart of the action.

This year’s lineup brings together world-renowned artists. Jamie Cullum will perform at the Kursaal Auditorium on the 22nd and will also offer a free open-air concert on the beach on the 23rd. That same evening, the legendary Beach Boys —led by Mike Love and Bruce Johnston— will bring their signature Californian sound to the shoreline. On the 24th, Yerai Cortés will present his contemporary flamenco style at the Kursaal, while in Plaza de la Trinidad, Steve Coleman and Kurt Elling will share the stage with the legendary Yellowjackets in a tribute to Weather Report.

On the 25th of July, guitarist Marc Ribot will perform his project “Hurry Red Telephone” in Plaza de la Trinidad, followed by a concert from the magnificent Dee Dee Bridgewater. On the same day, Brazilian music wizard Hermeto Pascoal will take the stage at the Kursaal, blending free jazz and regional folk. Saturday the 26th will feature a highly anticipated performance by the Brad Mehldau Trio, who will join Dave Holland and Chris Potter in their joint project “Kismet.” The festival will close on Sunday the 27th with two exceptional acts at the Kursaal: the duo Chicuelo – Marco Mezquida and the Paco de Lucía Legacy ensemble.

In addition to ticketed events, Jazzaldia also offers free open-air concerts at the Keler Gunea stage on Zurriola beach. Performers such as The War and Treaty, Anari, EXTC, Judith Hill, Crystal Murray, Bulego and Sidonie will light up the evenings with a festive atmosphere for all audiences.

Families can enjoy morning concerts through the Txikijazz programme, with Claire Martin Quartet performing on the 25th and Arima Soul on the 26th. The JazzEñe cycle at the Victoria Eugenia Theatre will feature rising Spanish jazz bands from the 23rd to the 26th, while Summer Jazz at Musikene will combine workshops, masterclasses and live music from the 24th to the 28th, offering a rich experience for learners and enthusiasts alike.

Hotel Parma is just a few minutes’ walk from all the main festival venues. With stunning views of the sea and the Old Town, the hotel offers a quiet and elegant space to unwind after each concert. It is the perfect base to experience the rhythm and charm of San Sebastián in the summertime.

We look forward to welcoming you to Hotel Parma and sharing the magic of Jazzaldia 2025 with you!
